July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Springfield convicted of crimes against children

There were four offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Springfield during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 32. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2013, and the oldest was a 43-year-old woman sentenced in 2015.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Jennifer Tyree. She was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2015 when she was 38 years old. She is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of crimes against children.
