Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Fulton County convicted of property crimes

There were seven offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Fulton County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that five men and two women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for property crimes, one was a veteran, and the median age was 40. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old woman sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2013.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michael Bass. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 52 years old. He is now 57.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of property crimes were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2018 in each Illinois county.
