State Representative Mike Coffey (R-Springfield) and Chatham Village President Dave Kimsey will hold a free document shredding event on Saturday, October 4 at Chatham Square. The drive-up event is designed for residents to safely dispose of old medical records, financial statements, or other sensitive documents.
Coffey stated, “I’m excited to join Chatham Village President Dave Kimsey to offer the community a great service that anyone can take advantage of to safety shred important documents they no longer need. It’s free, it’s easy, and gives people peace of mind knowing their personal information is not being subjected to possible theft.”
The event will take place on the west side of Chatham Square from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Residents seeking more information can contact Representative Coffey’s office at 217-782-0053 or by email.
Representative Coffey has served Illinois’ 95th House District since his election in 2023 as a Republican, succeeding Tim Butler. The district covers parts of Sangamon County—including Springfield and the villages of Chatham and Rochester—as well as portions of Macon and Christian Counties.
