Illinois College women's tennis wins fifth straight match against Illinois Valley College

The Illinois College women's tennis team secured its fifth consecutive dual match victory by defeating Illinois Valley College 7-0 on Sunday at the LaSalle-Peru Tennis Courts. With this win, the Lady Blues improve their overall record to 9-5.

Illinois College dominated in doubles play, with Alyssa Wise and Clara Bach winning 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. Lily Ingram and Sophie Muir achieved a shutout at No. 2, while Morgan Keefe and Sophi Barrow posted an 8-1 win at No. 3.

In singles matches, the Lady Blues won all six contests in straight sets. Bach (No. 2) and Keefe (No. 5) each recorded 6-0, 6-0 victories. Barrow won her match at No. 6 with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Muir (No. 3) and Ingram (No. 4) both finished with identical scores of 6-2, 6-0, while Wise secured a win at No. 1 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-0.

During their current five-match winning streak, Illinois College has won a total of 32 out of the last 35 singles and doubles matches.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will return to Midwest Conference play this weekend as they host Cornell at 9:00 a.m. and Grinnell at 3:00 p.m., both matches taking place at the Bellatti Tennis Complex.
