Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in St. Clair County convicted of crimes against justice

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in St. Clair County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Orlando Stevenson. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 31 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against justice were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2018 in each Illinois county.
