City of Lincoln issued the following announcement on July 20.
The Third Fridays Downtown Lincoln celebration has been cancelled for Friday, July 19, due to extreme heat conditions. It will be rescheduled for a later date. There is an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for Central Illinois. Please take caution and limit your time outdoors so as not to suffer from heat exhaustion or heat stroke. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
