City of Atlanta City Council met June 18.

OPEN: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held at the Atlanta City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor McVey at 7:30pm.
ROLL CALL: Colaw, Thomas, Young, Dreyer, Cheek and Evans were present.
Motion by Cheek second by Evans to approve the minutes as presented.

Motion by Evans second by Thomas to pay all bills as approved by their respected chairman or as far as money allows.

Carl Johnston asked if a vacant building could be turned into a gym.
Chief Eimer reported that a new officer will begin working on 6/27/19. Four to Five officers will be working the night of the Fireworks. He wanted to close North St. for the Firework which will be on 6/30/19.
Randy Brooks reported that 2 outings had been postponed but individual play had been picking up.
New discounts were in effect and would be published.
The Mayor brought up the Resolution for Harvest Host that was discussed at the last meeting.
Motion by Colaw second by Dreyer to approve the Resolution for Harvest Host.

The Mayor brought up the need for a lawn mower again and asked the council to approve the purchase of the used 2017 Toro mower.
Motion by Cheek second by Colaw to purchase 2017 Toro mower.

The Library requested a special permit for consumption of alcohol for programs held on June 27, July 11, Aug 8 and Oct 24th. The library does have insurance coverage.
Alderman Young asked if this was a one-time permit for all dates or each date. He also states City Hall should have a copy of that policy. The Mayor recommended that the first event be approved with the last 3 events approval upon receipt of current insurance coverage.
Motion by Colaw second by Evans to approve the Special event license for the Library.

The council was given a copy of a Hold Harmless agreement for swimming lessons, for review. To be voted on at the next meeting.
Logan County Emergency Management Agency is holding a meeting from 10am to 12 on 6/20/19 and anyone can attend.
The Mayor went over information about the upcoming Census. A census representative came to City Hall with information.
The Fire Dept. will be helping with collecting donation for the Fireworks.
The Mayor stated the employees wanted to trade days on the 4th of July to give them a 3-day weekend.
Alderman Young states either they all work on Thursday or none of them work on Thursday. He also stated that he talked with Paul about street signs and some signs have been ordered.
