Riverton Village Board of Trustees met June 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverton held their regular board meeting on June 17th, 2019 at the Riverton Village Hall, Riverton, IL.

The board meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. Those answering roll call: Mayor Tom Rader. Trustees: Russ Patrick, Dave Charles, Joe Bartley, Jim Mileham, Michelle Landess, Ginger Payne was not in attendance

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve June 3rd meeting minutes and pay the bills. It was seconded by Trustee Landess. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham and Landess voted yes.

People to Address the Board

Sangamon County Auditor Andy Goleman and Judge Raylene Grischow spoke about being on the 2020 ballots and information about themselves.

Old Business

New Business

Bartley made a motion to approve Resolution 19-004 providing for the demolition of a dangerous building (320 e Jefferson) It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Bartley made a motion to approve Resolution 19-005 providing for the demolition of a dangerous building (411 e Jefferson) It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Bartley made a motion to approve Resolution 19-006 providing for the demolition of a dangerous building (128 N 7th St.) It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Ordinance 19-019 amending the Riverton Code of Ordinances for solar panel was tabled

Mileham made a motion to approve Ordinance 19-020 approving service area agreement with menard electric cooperative. It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Superintendent Lyons report (see attached paper)

Chief of Police reported Sangamon county public health did 2 inspections in the last month, one a vacant building at 7th and Washington, 2nd at a residence. Action plans are being discussed to clean up these places. Dog walkers please pick up your friends droppings.

Upcoming events- July 3rd K of C firecrackin festival 5-11 at field of dreams, July 12&13 Back the Blue Car Show event at the field of dreams

Office Manager Patterson had nothing to report.

Treasurer Baker had nothing to report.

Committee Reports

Trustee Landess, chairman of the Administrative Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Mileham chairman of the Public Safety Committee had nothing to report.

Trustee Payne, chairman of the Public Utility Committee, was not in attendance

Trustee Charles, chairman of the Parks Committee mentioned the deck and docks at veterans’ pond will be fixed this fall.

Trustee Patrick, chairman of the Public Works Committee, asked for an approval for the labor of sidewalks on 3rd st to carl in the amount of $5,291.00. It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley, chairman of the Economic Development Committee, mentioned there will be a color run September 28.

Mayor Rader had nothing to report

Trustee Bartley made a motion to go into closed session at 7:52. Trustee Mileham seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Payne, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to go back in open session at 8:16 Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Payne, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Mileham made a motion to approve Ordinance 19-021 approving a contract with laborers local 477. It was seconded by Trustee Landess. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Landess made a motion to approve Ordinance 19-022 approving a change to personnel code. It was seconded by Trustee Bartley. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to adjourn the meeting at8:18. Trustee Patrick seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Payne, Bartley,Mileham and Landess voted yes.
