Village of Chatham Village Board met July 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

A. Call to Order

Present: Trustee Chiaro, Mann, Mau, Detmers, Gerger, Scherschel, and Village President Kimsey.

Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Attorney Jurgens, Deputy Police Chief Tarter, and Village Administrator McCarthy.

4. Honored Guests

Andy Goleman- Sangamon County Auditor came and introduced himself and spoke to the board regarding the duties of his office.

5. Public Announcements

Les Morgan- Announced that this weekend the American Legion is having a free hog roast from 12-7 pm. They are accepting donations for the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.

Greg Harris- August 9th the American Legion is having a "Bike Night" with permission from the Village. The event will start around 6 pm and end at 8pm. The Village Admin will give Mr. Harris additional information on how to obtain a special event license.

Darlene Judd- Vehicle purchase on the warrants inquiry.

B. Consent Agenda

1. Regular Village Board Meeting Minutes from Tuesday, July 9th, 2019.

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Scherschel to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

1. Volunteer Sign Proclamation

Trustee Detmers moved, seconded by Trustee Scherschel. This proclamation was passed by voice vote.

2. AN ORDINANCE NAMING THE BASEBALL FIELD CONCESSION STAND IN THE VILLAGE OF CHATHAM’S COMMUNITY PARK, Ordinance 19-20

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Gerger to put Ordinance 19-20 on the table for action. Ordinance 19-20 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

3. A RESOLUTION GRANTING THE USE OF THE VILLAGE SQUARE FOR PAINT THE TOWN RED, Resolution 43-19

Trustee Detmers moved, seconded by Trustee Scherschel to put Resolution 43-19 on the table for action. Resolution 43-19 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

4. A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH NATIONAL TREE CARE FOR TREE REMOVAL AND LIVE WIRE CLEARANCE, Resolution 44-19

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Chiaro to put Resolution 44-19 on the table for action. Resolution 44-19 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

5. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2019 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR (SUV) FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, Ordinance 19-21

Trustee Detmers moved, seconded by Trustee Mann to put Ordinance 19-21 on the table for action. Ordinance 19-21 passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

6. AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR THE VILLAGE MANAGER AND CHIEF OF POLICE, Ordinance 19-22

G. Reconvene Open Session

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Chiaro to reconvene open session. This motion was passed 6 yes, 0 no, and 0 absent as follows: Trustee Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Detmers yes, Chiaro yes, Gerger yes, and Mau yes.

H. Closing

1. Adjournment

Trustee Chiaro moved, seconded by Trustee Mann to adjourn the meeting. This was passed by voice vote at 6:45 PM.
