City of Mount Pulaski City Council met June 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Present: Mayor Matthew Bobell, Alderman Emerick, Maxheimer, Neaville and Smock, City Treasurer Tricia Aylesworth, Police Chief Tony West

Absent: Alderman Phillips and Rentmeister

The City Council meeting was called to order, Mayor Matthew Bobell presided.

Public Comments – Agenda Items Only: Franklin Richardson stated he lives on E. German Ave and has a few tree issues that are located on Kentucky Ave. Franklin wanted to make a formal request to the council and let them be aware of potential damage to property. Franklin has made a request to the tree committee but has yet to receive a response. Franklin did speak with Joe Lucas and Joe stated the tree will be there for a long time. Franklin would like a response as to when the trees will be taken care of

Police: Nothing to report.

Water/ Sewer: Matt Presswood stated the new water main extension was started today and hopes to be complete by the end of the week, weather permitting.

Matt Presswood stated he is currently waiting for an approval on the plan revisions submitted to the Canadian National Rail Road.

Streets/Alleys: Matt Presswood stated the crew is continuing to work on patch work.

A tree lift was rented, 95% of the trees have been cut and cleaned up. The crew would like to rent the tree lift again this fall.

Financing: Deposits to date: $48,483.16

Public Comments – Non Agenda Items:

Approval of Consent Agenda: City Clerk, Kelly Cowan read the bills as presented.

Mayor Bobell would suggest sending the $2000.00 donation for the fire department to the EAB board for business district appropriations.

Bob Brock with Brock Insurance stated the Delta insurance is due for renewal. The rates are not changing and will stay the same for the next two (2) years.

Mayor Bobell stated as previously discussed the Caterpillar loan will be renewed. City Treasurer, Tricia Aylesworth will get the paper work from The Farmers Bank.

Mayor Bobell stated we currently pay more for the Logan County Animal Control than other comparable communities. It was suggest the city contract’s and pay’s $2400.00.

Mayor Bobell stated the Fall Festival committee has sent a letter for a monetary donation. The City pays for the garbage pickup and the port a pots. There will be no monetary donation made.

A motion was made by Alderman Neaville and seconded by Alderman Maxheimer to approve the consent agenda items; the bills, sending the EAB the fire department $2,000.00 donation for a business district appropriation, Delta Insurance renewal and the Logan County Animal Control for $2400.00. All voting yea – the motion carried.

Miscellaneous: City Clerk, Kelly Cowan stated once prevailing wages have been posted to the IDOL they will be added to the agenda.

Mayor Bobell stated there is a TIF meeting Thursday Morning at City Hall at 11 a.m. Mayor Bobell stated the meeting was adjourned.
