Auburn Community Unit School District 10 Board met Aug. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the special meeting of the Auburn Board of Education on August 15, 2019: Present: Fred Jessup, John Megginson, Carl Kessler, Brad Smith, Scott Norris, Matt Kern by phone, and Josh Smith. Also present were Darren Root, Nathan Essex, Dave Bates, Dave Campbell, and Lorilea Buerkett.

J. Smith moved to adopt the agenda. Norris seconded the motion. The voting was as follows: 

Jessup yea Norris yea

Kern yea B. Smith yea

Kessler yea J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Kessler moved to enter Closed Session at 7:05 pm. Norris seconded the motion. The voting was as

follows:

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Board came out of Closed Session at 8:14 pm.

Megginson moved to approve consent agenda items which consisted of:

 Employed MS Teacher - Kelsie Fairfull

 Accepted resignation of HS PE Teacher - Becky Spencer

 Employed Pre-K Teacher - Cynthia Essex

 Accepted resignation of JH Head Cook - Sondra Waldrop

 Employed HS PE Teacher - Jon Barth

 Acceped MS Teacher resignation / Retirement - Donna Smargiassi - May 2023

 Employed JH Head Cook - Kelli LeMarr

 Employed Bus Monitor - Nancy DeHeve

 Employed 6th Grade Boys Basketball Coach - Jon Barth
