Village of La Grange Design Review Commission met Aug. 7.
Here is the agenda provided by the commission:
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
A meeting of the Design Review Commission was convened at 7:36 p.m.
Present: (and constituting a quorum): Commissioners Banks, Cahill, Dunne, and Wisthuff.
Absent: Chairman Reardon, Commissioners Hanson and McClinton.
Also Present: Mimi and Dan Collins of Anecdote Home, and Village Planner Heather V alone.
As Chairman Reardon as absent, a Pro Tem Chairperson for the evening was needed. Commissioner Whisthuff was elected unanimously to act as the Pro Tem Chairperson, on a motion by Commissioner Banks and seconded by Commissioner Cahill.
III. BUSINESS AT HAND:
DRC #110 DESIGN REVIEW PERMIT FOR ANECDOTE HOME, 8 WEST BURLINGTON AVENUE
Pro Tem Chairman Wisthuff introduced the application.
Mimi Collins presented the application and requests. She described the proposed furniture and home furnishings business as well.
Pro Tem Chairman Whithuff asked how the overhang was going to be filled in with the black metal.
Ms. Collins described how the overhang will be filled on all three sides with the same black metal material as is currently on the building. The black material will be flush with the second floor limestone bump out.
Commissioner Banks asked about the proposed goose neck lighting. Discussion ensued regarding other buildings with goose neck lighting.
Pro Tem Chairman Wisthuff confirmed that the enclosure of the overhang would be weather tight.
Ms. Collins said that was correct.
Commissioner Banks asked about the electrical connection for the goose neck lighting. Ms. Collins stated that there is existing electrical that can be extended.
Commissioner Cahill indicated support for the application.
Design Review Commission Recommendation
A motion was made by Cahill, seconded by Banks to recommend the application
A roll call vote was taken
Ayes: Banks, Cahill, Dunne, and Wishuff
Nays:
Motion passed
Ms. Valone said that the application could be placed on the August 26 Village Board agenda.
