Village of Williamsville Village Board met Oct. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Town Hall/board meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Yokley. Clerk: Karen Winger. Trustees: Dave Carter, Heather Hofferkamp, Patrick Gettleman, Matt Bunger, Skylar Tierney, Matt Bunger

GUESTS: See attached list.

COMMUNICATIONS: President Yokley stated the events for the Boo on the Boulevard were moved to the Community Center and the Old Bank Building due to the rain. He stated there was great attendance. He thanked the employees, members of the Garden Club, and members of the Williamsville Community Foundation for their work on the event. He stated there were seventeen houses that entered the house decorating contest.

Office Harmon presented the board a memorandum asking the board to consider our police department participating in “No Shave November”. Officers donate $1/per day which is donated to a cancer research/awareness entity.

Trustee Brennan made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting held on October 15, 2019. Trustee Tierney seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

FINANCE: Trustee Tierney made a motion to pay bills as presented. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Tierney made a motion to pass Ordinance #2019-08, an ordinance of the Village of Williamsville, Illinois, levying taxes for the fiscal year January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

PUBLIC SAFETY (John Brennan): Trustee Brennan made a motion to approve the police departments participation in “No Shave November” for a one month. Trustee Brennan stated this will be a trial this year, which will determine future years. Facial hair must not exceed a half inch. Facial hair shall be trimmed at all times. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Brennan made a motion to allow Randy Segatto to draft an ordinance regarding marijuana. The ordinance shall state the Village of Williamsville is opting out. Trustee Brennan stated this is a result of the discussions made during a Public Hearing that was recently held. Trustee Carter seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

WATER & SEWER, (Matt Bunger): Trustee Bunger stated he is still waiting on some additional figures before he can finalize his budget.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (Hofferkamp): Trustee Hofferkamp stated Speedway is now open for business.

PARKS & RECREATION (Dave Carter): Trustee Carter stated his committee had a meeting and has submitted a tentative budget to Trustee Tierney.

Trustee Carter thanked everyone who has donated to the park project. Our public works employees will be able to make the signs.

Trustee Carter stated he would like to see some signs posted at the park visualizing our donation goals for the park.

Trustee Carter showed the board members a picture of the proposed playground equipment. President Yokley stated there will be a sidewalk installed right up to the playground equipment, which would make it more handicap accessible. He also noted that the ground surface will only be one color, not multi-color, due to the exepense.

STREETS, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS & STORM SEWERS (Patrick Gettleman): Trustee Gettleman had nothing to report.

President Yokley stated they have raised the dirt at the overpass location. He stated they will be installing the pylons this winter.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: Trustee Hofferkamp discussed her concerns about the overpass project this winter and individuals sledding on the dirt. No trespassing signs have been installed at the project site. Sledding will not be allowed at this location.

The regular board meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Williamsville adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
