City of Petersburg City Council met January 21

City of Petersburg City Council met Jan. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

I. CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Pro Tem Mike Allison called the City Council to order at 7:01 p.m.

II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS

A. Members present were Aldermen Nathan Grosboll, Andrew Gain, Bruce Gorman, Rick Sonnemaker, and Mike Allison. Also present were Treasurer Dave Frick, City Clerk Ken Ortman and City Attorney Chris Sherer. Alderman Kevin Molohon was absent and Mayor Rick Snyder was out of state.

B. Mayor Por Tem Allison led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

C. A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve the agenda as presented. VOTES: Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Grosboll, yes; Gain, yes; Allison, yes. Mayor Pro Tem Allison declared the MOTION CARRIED.

III. CITY CLERK

A. The City Clerk presented the Warrant List and Accounts Payable.

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Gain to approve payment of the bills as listed on the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Grosboll, yes; Gain, yes; Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes. Mayor Pro Tem Allison declared the MOTION CARRIED.

B. A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Gain to approve the minutes of January 7, 2020 Regular Meeting. VOTES: Grosboll, yes; Gain, yes; Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes. Mayor Pro Tem Allison declared the MOTION CARRIED.

IV. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS

A. Water

Water Superintendent Dave Troxell gave the Water Collector,s

Report For December 2020. The Department has taken about $7000 less this year as compared to last year. The Water Plant treaded 7,592,900 gallons of potable water. The Sewer Plant took in 5,334,000 gallons of wastewater. The Sewer Plant discharged 5,592.000 gallons of wastewater.

B. Street

Street Superintendent Dave Troxell gave the Street Department Report. Plowed snow the last 2 snow days. Pre Treated the roads for this last ice storm so city streets turned out pretty good. The new truck is in the shop with a bad tail light

V. OFFICERS’ REPORTS

A. Mayor’s Report

B. Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer David Frick gave the Treasurer’s Report as presented. A motion made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Gain to approve the Treasurer’s Report. VOTES: Gain, yes; Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Grosboll, yes. Mayor Pro Tem Allison declared the MOTION CARRIED.

VI. STANDING COMMITTEES’ REPORT

Alderman Gain requested a Meeting of the Police/Personnel Committees for Monday January 27, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.

VII. SPECIAL COMMITTEES’ REPORT

None

VIII. HEARING OF CITIZENS

None

X. Old Business

1. Discussion on the parking situation at Head Start Daycare. The bus is now parking in the Dairy Queen lot and Gillmores gave them permission to use some of there spots for drop off and pick up.

2. Discussion on what the County had decided about the marijuana sales.

3. Discussion on Petersburg Poultry’s water situation.

X. NEW BUSINESS

1. Discussion on water lines at Old Salem Chautauque Association

XII. ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Gorman to adjourn the meeting. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Grosboll, yes; Gain, yes; Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED. Meeting Adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
