Riverton Village Board of Trustees met Feb. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverton held their regular board meeting on February 4th, 2019 at the Riverton Village Hall, Riverton, IL.

Public hearing on Proposed Franklin Minor subdivision was held at 6:45 and closed at 6:50.

The board meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Those answering roll call: Mayor Tom Rader. Trustees: Russ Patrick, Dave Charles, Joe Bartley, Jim Mileham, Michelle Landess, Also in attendance were: Treasurer Rita Baker, Office Manager Stacy Patterson, Superintendent Alex Lyons, and Chief Lawley. Ginger Payne was not in attendance.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve January 22nd meeting minutes and pay the bills. It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

There was no one to address the board.

Old Business

John Myers gave report on TIF District Feasibility Study

New Business

Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve Ord #19-002 approving a Tax Increment Financing District Feasibility Study. Mileham seconded the motion. Trustee Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham, Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve Res #19-001 approving the Preparation of a Tax Increment Financing District. Mileham seconded the motion. Trustee Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham, Landess voted yes.

Ord #19-003 Approving Franklin Minor Subdivision was tabled.

Trustee Landess made a motion to approve Ord #19-004 Approving Fee Proposal for Professional Services from Canny Accounting for fiscal year ending 4/30/2019. Mileham seconded the motion. Trustee Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham, Landess voted yes.

Superintendent Lyons presented the board with his report. (See attached report.) Trustee Patrick made a motion to approve the request for electric cablem j-boxes, and transformers for upcoming projects for the amount of 80,000. Landess seconded the motion. Trustee Patrick, Charles, Bartley, Mileham, Landess voted yes.

Chief Lawley presented with his report. (See attached report.) He mentioned that Officer Summerson attended a class on domestic violence and will be attending a class on Illinois Vehicle Code Updates. Chief Lawley attended a two day Executive Summit Referencing Risk Management, Public Relations with Media, and Motivational Leadership. Neighborhood Watch meeting will be Feb. 5th at 6pm, Cookies with a Cop Valentines special will be Saturday Feb 9th at 12pm, Riverton boys basketball subway shootout will be held at Rivertons High School Feb 9th.

Office Manager Patterson had nothing to report.

Treasurer Baker had nothing to report.

Committee Reports

Trustee Landess, chairman of the Administrative Committee, nothing to report.

Trustee Mileham, chairman of the Public Safety Committee, mentioned officer Yeamen asked for the approval of the back the blue car show tent in the amount of 1,600. Trustee Bartley seconded the motion.. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Payne, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Patrick, chairman of the Public Utility Committee, mentioned there will be a meeting about solar panels Feb. 18th at 6pm.

Trustee Charles, chairman of the Parks Committee nothing to report.

Trustee Payne, chairman of the Public Works Committee, was not in attendance. Trustee Bartley mentioned there will be a meeting Feb 18th at 9am.

Trustee Bartley, chairman of the Economic Development Committee, mentioned there will be a meeting at 10am on Feb 18th and trivia night March 2nd.

Mayor Rader mentioned he received a Thank you Letter from the Mayor of Taylorville in regards to the help from our employees in the aif of the Taylorville tornadoes in December.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:38. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Payne, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.
