Auburn Community Unit School District 10 Board met Feb. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the regular meeting of the Auburn Board of Education on February 19, 2020: Present: Fred Jessup, John Megginson, Josh Smith, Brad Smith, Matt Kern, and Scott Norris. Absent: Carl Kessler. Also present were Darren Root, Amy Donaldson, Nathan Essex, Mark Dudley, Dave Bates, Joe Petty, Jodi O’Dell, Erin Bidleman, and Ruby Howard secretary to the board.

S. Norris moved to adopt the agenda. Megginson seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Jessup yea                Norris yea

Kern yea                    B. Smith yea

Kessler absent          J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 6 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

 Cash Flow Analysis

Megginson moved to approve bid for elementary gym stage roof and elementary kitchen roof – Designed Roofing $207,200. S. Norris seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Kessler absent          J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 6 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried

Architect Joe Petty was present to answer questions.

Kern moved to seek bids for ES Playground blacktop with drainage. (The next phase of the ES playground to include turf area.) Norris seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Kern yea                    B. Smith yea

Kessler absent          J. Smith abstain

Megginson nay

There being 4 “yeas”, 1 “nays”, 1 “abstain” the president declared the motion carried

Kern moved to go into Closed Session at 7:50 pm. J. Smith seconded the motion. The voting as follows:

Kern yea                    B. Smith yea

Kessler absent          J. Smith yea

Megginson yea

There being 6 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Board came out of Closed Session at 8:52 pm.

Megginson moved to adjourn at 8:53 pm. B. Smith seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:
