Athens Community Unit School District 213 issued the following announcement on April 4.
Here is an update regarding Prom and Graduation:
Prom:
*The May 2nd date has been cancelled
*If allowed to return to school May 1st
- Prom will be as follows (If Allowed)
>An Abbreviated Prom will be held Saturday May 16th @ CIS Gym
>Promenade @ 4pm CIS Gym
>Meals will be on your own
>Dance from 8-11 at CIS Gym @ NO CHARGE to STUDENTS
>Dessert Bar will be available with bottled water
Graduation:
*If students are allowed to return to school May 1st then graduation remains on
>Sunday May 24th @ 2 pm in the HS Gymnasium (If Allowed)
*If school is cancelled for the remainder of the school year then we are looking at
>Saturday June 20th @ 10:00 am in the HS Gymnasium (If Allowed)
Please understand that we are all trying to do our part in getting back to business as
usual! Keeping our students and community safe has to be our first priority and if
allowed, we will do our best to keep Prom and Graduation on the calendar.
