Village of Chatham Utility Oversight Subcommittee met Feb. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the subcommittee:

Call to Order - Chairman Brett Gerger called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.

Roll Call - Those attending the meeting were: Trustee Mann, Trustee Scherschel, Chairman Gerger, Paul Pachlhofer, Pat McCarthy, Village Manager, and Deputy Clerk Moran. Absent: Dan Lewis - excused

Public Comments Agenda Topics - Darlene Judd: Had a question regarding the Consent Agenda. The item on the agenda was to pay Bill Brown for 3 months of his service at the SCWC meetings, etc.

Old Business

Approve the Minutes from the November 18, 2019 Chatham Utility Oversight Subcommittee meeting - Paul Scherschel motioned to approve the Minutes from November 18, 2019 and this was seconded by Paul Pachelhofer. All others voiced approval. Minutes were approved.

New Business

Review and Discuss Update to Customer Service Manual - Village Manager McCarthy distributed copies of part of the Customer Service Policy Handbook (revised March 2020) to the board members to review. The board went over a few changes that still need to be made. Most of the changes related to the late charges and grace period for the water bill customers. The manual will be presented at the Village Meeting tomorrow evening. A vote may be taken to approve the manual at that time.

In Addition to the above: Village Manager McCarthy received a memo today from Lee Bloome regarding the upcoming bonds agreement for the SSWC.

A copy was distributed to the board members. A question was asked by Chairman Gerger about the bonds and Village Manager McCarthy will follow up with Lee Bloome in the near future. New bonds will be issued in the next 30 - 60 days if there is no more discussion needed.

Also, per Village Manager McCarthy, a new call system will be installed soon for the Village Utility Office. Customers can pay their bills via the phone line with a credit card after being set up on the system. The new call system will be used for many calls related to problems, shut-offs, their bills, etc.

Adjournment - Trustee Mann motioned to adjourn the meeting and this was seconded by Paul Pachelhofer. All others voiced approval. The meeting adjourned at 7:22 PM.
