City of Petersburg City Council met April 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

I. CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Rick Snyder called the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m.

II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS

A. Members present were Mayor Rick Snyder, City Clerk Ken Ortman, Deputy City Clerk Tracy Ciesler, Treasurer David Frick, and Deputy Police Chief Mike Nichols. Present via ZOOM Audio/Video were City Attorney Chris Sherer, Aldermen Bruce Gorman, Kevin Molohon, and Mike Allison. Alderman Andrew Gain, Rick Sonnemaker and Nate Grosboll were absent.

B. Mayor Snyder dispensed with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

C. A motion was made by Alderman Allison and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve the agenda as Presented. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Allison, yes; Mayor, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

III. CITY CLERK

A. City Clerk Ken Ortman presented the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. A motion was made by Alderman Molohon and seconded by Alderman Allison to approve payment of the bills as listed on the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Allison, yes; Mayor, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION

CARRIED.

B. A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Allison to approve the minutes of April 7, 2020 Regular Meeting. VOTES: Molohon, yes; Allison, yes; Gorman, yes; Mayor, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

Alderman Grosboll arrived at 7:10 pm via ZOOM.

C. A motion made by Alderman Allison seconded by Alderman Molohon to approve the minutes of the April 14, 2020 Finance Committee Meeting. VOTES: Allison, yes; Gorman, abstain, Molohon, yes; Grosboll Mayor, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

IV. HEARING OF CITIZENS

None

V. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS

A. Water

1. The Water Collectors report was read. Total revenue is down $8066.90 from last year. A motion made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Allison to approve the Water Collectors Report. VOTES: Allison, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

2. The Mayor read the Water Superintendents’ report. Repaired two water leaks. Repaired Well #10.

B. Street

1. Fixed Storm sewer on 7th and Rutledge. Assisted the Water Department with leaks.

VI. OFFICERS’ REPORTS

A. Mayor’s Report

None

Alderman Sonnemaker arrived via ZOOM at 7:15 pm.

B. Treasurer’s Report

The Treasures report was presented for the month of March. A motion made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Allison to approve the Treasures Report as presented. VOTES: Grosboll, yes; Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes, Molohon, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

2 Set Budget meeting for April 28, 2020 at 7:00 pm. We will do Street, Library, Road District #8, and Motor Fuel Tax.

VI. STANDING COMMITTEES’ REPORT

None

VII. SPECIAL COMMITTEES’ REPORT

None

X. Old Business

1. Alderman Molohon asked for a recap of the April 20, 2020 FOP Grievance Meeting.

X. NEW BUSINESS

1. The Mayor would like to suspend the sidewalk café fees for the time being. Hoping that would revive some sales after the stay in place order is lifted.

2. The Mayor would like to look at the Swimming Pool Ordinance to allow pools in a side yard.

3. The Mayor wants to look at the Ordinances on Appointments and Committees for possible changes to how and how long they are appointed.

XII. ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Alderman Allison and seconded by Alderman Sonnemaker to adjourn the meeting. VOTES: Allison, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED. Meeting Adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
