Chatham hosted a free shred event over the weekend that attracted hundreds of community members. Illinois State Representative Mike Coffey (R-Springfield) expressed appreciation to Chatham Village President Dave Kimsey and those who participated. "I want to thank Chatham Village President Dave Kimsey, and everyone in the community that attended our free shred event over the weekend! It was a great turnout and I enjoyed talking with everyone and meeting new constituents. We will be having another event like this one in the near future," Coffey said.
Coffey noted that the event allowed residents to safely dispose of personal documents, reducing concerns about identity theft. "This event was successful and really helped a lot of people dispose of personal information without having to worry about potential theft," he added.
Mike Coffey has represented Illinois' 95th House District since 2023, after being elected as a Republican to replace former state representative Tim Butler.
