Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on May 31.
Let’s shake off the spring and jump start the summer with a weekend full of movement art, wacky games, and crazy science! This online event will include activities that can be done at home including painting with bubbles, learning about expanding air by blowing up a bag, and creating your own obstacle course. All activities are meant to get you movin’ and groovin’ from home! In addition to activities, fun facts with educational resources you can use to learn more will be shared throughout the weekend. Activities, facts, and resources will be posted to this event page and our ISM Family Fun website at http://bit.ly/ismfamilyfun. You can participate by responding "going" to this event or checking the website during the event weekend. From Friday to Sunday, you’ll find new content for your family to enjoy.
Participating families can enter to win a prize from Licoln’s Little Toy Shop by sharing a photo of a completed event activity via email (events@illinoisstatemuseum.org) or in the Facebook event. Families can choose one of the recommended activities posted during the event or a related activity of their own. Entries will be accepted through Monday, June 8.* We'll announce the winner and feature our favorite photos on social media after the event.
This virtual event is sponsored by bankwithBOS. Activities will be geared toward elementary age children and their families, but most will be adaptable to other ages.
*Prize Drawing Details: Please submit family-friendly content only. The Museum reserves the right to remove or hide any content it feels is inappropriate for its audience. Only one entry per individual for the drawing, though you may post/send as many photos as you like during the event. Winners will have to share their name and address to receive their prizes. This information will not be shared outside the Museum and will not be used for purposes other than mailing prizes.
