Analysis: Chatham pays $1.89 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chatham FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 65.1 percent of the $274,410 the Chatham FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.89 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chatham contributed $178,555 to the fund, which saw a $17,520 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $94,400, or 34.4 percent, in 2018. Another $1,455 came from other unspecified sources.
