Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Logan County?

There were 12 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Logan County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that six men and six women were released in Logan County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2016, and the oldest was a 50-year-old woman sentenced for a property crime in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Melissa Berry. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when she was 41 years old. She is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Logan County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
