Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District responded to 171 calls in 2018 - 24.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lincoln Rural included 81 fires - 21 structure fires, 28 vehicle fires and 32 other fires.

In all, the department saw $119,200 in fire loss - or about $1,472 per fire.

The department also received 90 false calls.

The Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,209,861 in 2018.

The Lincoln Rural FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has six active employees and six retired or inactive employees, was $14,008 positive as of May 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $246 for every fire in 2017.
