Auburn Community Unit School District 10 Board met Aug. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The following members answered roll call at the regular meeting of the Auburn Board of Education. Present: Fred Jessup, Carl Kessler, Brad Smith, John Megginson, Josh Smith, Scott Norris and Matt Kern. Also present were Darren Root, Nathan Essex, Mark Dudley, Dave Bates, Matt Grimm, Amy Donaldson, and Denise Myers. Present: Althea Dowson, Christy Bailey, Ruby Howard, secretary to the board. Present Via Zoom: Erin Bidleman, Trisha Hemberger, Amy Sharp, Amy Williams, Dawn Wheat, Gayle Staggemeyer, Heidi Bearden, Jill Waltman, Jodi Odell, Ken Reedy, Seth McCoy, Melinda Marques, Missy Miller, Nathania Woosley, Sarah Krause, Sarah Smith, Sandy Parrish, and Sandy Jones.

Kessler moved to adopt the agenda. Norris seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Kern moved to pull “Approve Student Handbooks” from consent agenda. Norris seconded the motion.

The voting was as follows:

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Megginson moved to approve FY21 Tentative Budget. B. Smith seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

J. Smith moved to approve e-Learning Plan. Kessler seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Megginson moved to employ Christy Bailey as Assistant High School Principal. Kern seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Megginson moved to set Assistant HS Principal Salary Base pay at $86,500 plus all benefits as outlined per administrative contract language. Kessler seconded the motion. The voting was as follows:

Megginson yea

There being 7 “yeas”, 0 “nays”, the president declared the motion carried.

Board came out of Closed Session at 8:43 pm.
