Cahokia Community Unit School District 187 Board met Oct. 5.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
1. Call to Order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Roll Call.
3. Adopt Official Agenda giving the President discretion to take items out of order or in executive session as needed.
4. Approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on September 14, 2020.
5. Consider approval of bills as presented in the amount of $1,683,373.82 be authorized; that salaries for the month of October 2020 be authorized; that quick pay for September 2020 in the amount of $442,444.69 be approved; and that November 2020 salaries and bills to be quick paid be authorized.
6. Requests signed by interested citizens who attend the Board of Education meeting who request to speak to the Board.
7. Consent Agenda.
7.A. Create a middle school computer/keyboarding teacher position.
7.B. Approve Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave for Stephanie Arendell, teacher, effective Tuesday, August 18, 2020, through Monday, November 16, 2020. Ms. Arendell will be using her accumulated sick and personal leave days in conjunction with her FMLA leave. Commencement or termination of this leave may be adjusted.
7.C. Employ Shabre Jones as a teacher for the 2020-2021 school year, effective Friday, September 11, 2020, pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements.
7.D. Employ Florida Graham-Clark as a paraprofessional, effective Monday, September 21, 2020, pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements.
7.E. Employ Yielle Jackson as a lunchroom/playground aide, effective Tuesday, September 22, 2020, pending successful completion of pre-employment requirements.
7.F. Approve Extended Family Medical Leave Act (EFMLA) for Nicole D. Johnson, lunchroom/playground aide, effective Tuesday, August 25, 2020, through Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
7.G. Approve Extended Family Medical Leave Act (EFMLA) for Kiana Pearson, security, effective Friday, August 28, 2020, through Thursday, December 3, 2020. Ms. Pearson will be using her personal time.
7.H. Designate the following for the Southern Illinois Career and Technical Education System #460 Board of Control:
