City of Atlanta City Council Met Oct. 20.

OPEN: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held on Tuesday October 20, 2020 at the Atlanta City Hall and remotely. The meeting was called to order by Mayor McVey at 7:30PM.

The Mayor went over a report from Public Works. Several items were explained.
The Council took up some proposed sidewalk repairs. The area was 120 ft by 4ft on the south side of Vine between 5th and 6th St. The cost will be $4000.00.
Motion by Evans second by Cheek to accept the bid to have sidewalk repaired.

Motion by Colaw second by Eimer to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation.

The Council reentered open session at 8:05pm.
Motion by Evans second by Dreyer to approve payment of $2,335.39 to the County for taxes due and an agreement to release the City from future liability connected to the property at Elm and Second St.

The Council was given a copy of the proposed tax levy for action at the next meeting.
The Mayor discussed possibly creating a Tourism Director and why it would be needed. The position would be part-time. An initial plan was given to the council for review and future revision. The council asked questions to clarify the proposal.
Alderman Young questioned whether this would be worth it.
The Council took up the topic of Police cameras, preliminary information was given to the council. Further costs will be brought to the council.
Alderman Colaw asked that the old Rescue vehicle be declared surplus property.
Alderman Eimer asked that more gravel be put down on Karen Ct.
