Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.
How can you sum up what it means to be an American? During the 2021 presidential inauguration, poetry caught our attention and hearts. Using the words of Amanda Goman’s poem The Hill We Climb, join Illinois State Museum staff as we explore how her poem inspired us and what it reveals about our historic past. This hour long program will feature conversations with the audience looking into what the poem means to each of us individually, and how it guides us to strive for a better tomorrow.
