ABRAHAM LINCOLN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: Help Prevent Spread of COVID-19: Spring Holiday Safety

Maskspring

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

This week, many people will observe and celebrate religious holidays like Passover and Easter, but it’s important to continue basic safety measures in order to prevent a surge of COVID-19 infections.

“The good news is that more and more people are getting vaccinated, but unfortunately, there has also been a steady increase in cases,” said Gina Carnduff, system director for Infection Prevention at Memorial Health System. “We understand people are anxious to return to normal family gatherings and holiday celebrations. Consider moving gatherings outdoors if the weather cooperates, wear masks and avoid large gatherings of people.”

Consider the following tips:

  • Continue to wear masks, especially around people who have not been vaccinated.
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Consider online options for religious services.
  • If you choose to attend a service or gathering, maintain social distance and avoid physical contact with others.
  • Take advantage of area drive-thru Easter Egg hunts with your little ones.
For additional tips on safe holiday gatherings, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
