Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on May. 19.
Humans aren’t the only creatures that go to work. Bugs have many jobs from breaking down dead leaves to pollinating plants to making materials for clothing! Learn more about the amazing jobs bugs do with fun activities at the Museum. See bugs from our collection and hunt for bugs on the lawn. Free activity kits will be available to take home. Kits will include supplies to make a butterfly habitat and beeswax candles.
This program is sponsored by Bank of Springfield. Advanced registration is not required. All activities will be available during this come-and-go event. Additional activity ideas and resources will also be available on the Museum’s Family Fun website at bit.ly/ismfamilyfun. Kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up at the Museum without attending the event.
