City of Carmi City Council met June 1.

Here is the agenda as provided by the committee:

1. Call to order by Mayor Pollard, Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.


2. Roll Call.

3. Approve May 18, 2021, Council Meeting Minutes.

4. For council consideration, discussion and possible approval:

      1. Patrick Scates requesting possible closure of Main Cross Street between Main & Robinson on October 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for Farm to Table Dinner.

      2. Resolution 06.01.21:  A resolution for “Re-routing traffic” for the Kiwanis Club Annual Corn Days celebration to be held October 8th through October 10, 2021.

      3. Ordinance #1573:  An ordinance amending Ord No 1426, Being an ordinance prescribing rates & charges for water sold & furnished by the City from its municipal water works & distribution system (tap fees).

      4. Ordinance #1574:  An ordinance authorizing the City of Carmi of White County IL to borrow funds from the state of Illinois EPA Public Water Supply Loan Program.

      5. Ordinance #1575:  An ordinance authorizing any new water service added onto the City of Carmi must have a minimum of 40 feet of water main access per Illinois EPA.

      6. RICE NEShap Compliance testing for the light plant

      7. IDOT Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Carmi for maintenance of traffic control devices.  

      8. The Police Committee will ask the council for approval to replace an officer due to resignation.  

5. Reports and/or updates from Mayor Pollard

6. Reports from Standing Committees.

7. Business or comments from visitors.

8. Closed Session to discuss personnel and property issues with no action to follow.

9. Adjournment
