Village of Chatham Village Board Met Aug. 24.

Present: Trustee Mau; Trustee Ferguson; Trustee Chiaro; Trustee Detmers; Trustee Scherschel; Village President Kimsey

Absent: Trustee Gerger

Others Present: Village Administrator McCarthy; Village Attorney Moredock; Police Chief Foli; Village Clerk Holden

4. Public Announcements: If you have a Public announcement you must email it to (publiccomments@chathamil.net) at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled meeting.

Les Morgan, with the Chatham VFW, would like to reserve the Veterans Memorial Park on the Chatham Square to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021. There was agreement to approve this request.

A motion was made by Trustee Chiaro to place the consent agenda on the table for discussion. That motion was seconded by Trustee Mau. The motion passed with a 5-0 vote. The vote was as follows: Trustee Mau - yes; Trustee Ferguson - yes; Trustee Chiaro - yes; Trustee Detmers - yes; Trustee Scherschel - yes; Trustee Gerger - absent.

D. Old Business

There was no Old Business to discuss.

E. New Business

1. PROCLAMATION HONORING THE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 TERRORIST ATTACKS AND THE RECOGNITION OF PATRIOT DAY AND THE NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE.

A motion was made by Trustee Detmers to concur with the Proclamation. Trustee Mau seconded that motion. By a voice vote of all present Trustees, the motion was approved.

2. Resolution Approving An Emergency Operations Plan for the Village of Chatham

A motion was made by Trustee Mau to place Resolution 36-21 on the table for discussion. The motion was seconded by Trustee Chiaro. By a voice vote of all present Trustees, the motion was approved.

3. Ordinance Amending The Village Code To Allow for Seizure of Vehicles for Fleeing and Evading Arrest.

A motion to table this Ordinance was made by Trustee Chiaro. The motion was seconded by Trustee Mau. By a voice vote of all present Trustees, the motion was approved.

G. Closed Session

A motion was made by Trustee Ferguson to enter into Closed Session to discuss matters relating to Personnel under 2(c)(1), Setting the Price of Public Property under 2(c)(6) and The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired under 2(c)(5). This motion was seconded by Trustee Scherschel. The motion passed with a 5-0 vote. The vote was as follows: Trustee Mau - yes; Trustee Ferguson - yes; Trustee Chiaro - yes; Trustee Detmers - yes; Trustee Scherschel - yes; Trustee Gerger - absent.

H. Closing

At the conclusion of the Closed Session, Trustee Chiaro made a motion to reconvene the Regular Board meeting. This motion was seconded by Trustee Ferguson. By a voice vote of all present Trustees, the motion was approved.

Trustee Mau made a motion to adjourn the Regular Board meeting. This motion was seconded by Trustee Ferguson. By a voice vote of all present Trustees, the motion was approved.
