Report: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley School District spent $13,806 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unified School District 5 was up 32.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Ford County school district spent $10,397 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,806 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,045 to 999 students over the same period.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's spending in 2019-20 was 4.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
