Report: Vandalia School District spent $11,449 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Vandalia Community Unit School District 203 was up 18.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Fayette County school district spent $9,677 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,449 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,536 to 1,450 students over the same period.

Vandalia's spending in 2019-20 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
