Report: Palestine School District spent $12,102 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Palestine Community Unit School District 3 was up 39.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Crawford County school district spent $8,698 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,102 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 336 to 297 students over the same period.

Palestine's spending in 2019-20 was 16.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
