Report: Freeburg School District spent $10,403 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Freeburg Community Consolidated School District 70 was up 28.4 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $8,100 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,403 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 766 to 796 students over the same period.

Freeburg's spending in 2019-20 was 28.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
