Ted Dabrowski, a candidate for governor of Illinois, visited St. Patrick Catholic School in Springfield and described the experience as impressive. He reaffirmed his commitment to restoring school choice options in the state.
"I was so impressed with the student engagement, discipline and participation – and the teaching of values," said Dabrowski, Gubernatorial candidate for Illinois. "Gov. Pritzker and Democratic supermajorities killed school choice at the end of 2023. They made Illinois the first state in the country to wipe out school choice. As your governor, I promise to do everything I can to bring back school choice for families trapped in failing schools."
St. Patrick Catholic School is a diocesan elementary institution serving the Springfield community with a focus on academics, character formation, and Catholic values. The school maintains strong connections with other local Catholic schools, such as Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, where many alumni continue their education. The school's website details its programs, community updates, and opportunities for support—elements that Dabrowski observed during his visit.
Dabrowski is running as a Republican candidate for governor. He previously served as president of Wirepoints, an organization focused on policy research in Illinois. His professional background includes roles as vice president of policy and spokesman at the Illinois Policy Institute and leadership positions at Citibank in Mexico and Poland. His campaign emphasizes fiscal reform, educational freedom, and data-driven policy solutions.
