City of Athens City Council met Jan. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Meeting called to order by Mayor Reichert at 7:00 PM. Everyone stood and recited the pledge of  Allegiance. City Clerk Rhonda Ethell Called roll call, all Alderman were present. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve the public works, Police, Treasurers, Cemetery,  Library, vehicles and office managers reports. 

Motion to approve made by Alderman Lantz second by Alderman Chernowsky, motion passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to approve the December 2021 meeting minutes. Motion to approve made by Alderman Thompson seconded by Alderman Armbruster, motion  passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion for payment of the bills. 

Motion made by Alderman Puma seconded by Alderman Lantz, motion passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to purchase a camera for the police department with $2,400.00  coming from CIEG funds and $500.00 coming from the LESSO Funds. 

Motion to approve made by Alderman Thompson seconded by Alderman Armbruster, motion  passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to accept the farmland bid from Steve DiGiovanna at $226.00  per acre. 

Motion to approve made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Thompson, motion passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to accept the bid from Edward Sonnie McNeal for cemetery  lawn maintenance in the amount of $5200.00 for the mowing season. 

Motion to approve made by Alderman Lantz seconded by Alderman Thompson, motion passed. 

Mayor Reichert asked for a motion to sell 2 public works vehicles with a reserve of $10,000. total. Motion to approve made by Alderman Chernowsky seconded by Alderman Armbruster, motion  passed. 

Motion made by Alderman Thompson seconded by Alderman Lantz to adjourn meeting at 7:27  PM
