Analysis: New Hope administrators rank 533rd in state for average pay

Administrators in New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 earn an average of $96,000 per year, ranking 533rd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 10.3 percent higher than in 2016 and 32.6 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 13.7 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The New Hope School District in Wayne County enrolled 192 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 192 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
