Logan County Executive & Personnel Committee met March 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present: Mr. Schaffenacker, Mrs. Davenport, Dr. Hepler, Mr. Sanders, Mrs. Welch (arrived at 6:08pm) Absent: Mrs. Estill

Guests:

Mr. Schaffenacker called the meeting to order at 6:00pm

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Mr. Sanders, seconded by Dr. Hepler, to approve the minutes from February 9, 2022. Motion carried.

Old Business:

1. Stone River Group Municipal Aggregation Update- Mr. Schaffenacker told the committee that he has been in touch with Justin Cheger and explained to the committee that the residential contract is every 2 years and that is what the committee will need to vote on explained the rates to the committee. Mrs. Davenport made a motion, seconded by Mr. Sanders, to authorize the Board Chair to sign a two-year residential energy aggregation contract with Stone River Group. Motion carried.

2. Community Benefit Fees- Mr. Schaffenacker explained to the committee that he has not moved forward with the agenda item; Mrs. Davenport told the committee that she has received a form from Tourism that had been discussed last month and mentioned that she would like the funds to be used for things that can be used for the whole community and parameters should be put on things. The committee discussed a community event that will be taking place downtown in June. Mr. Sanders asked about the cost of the recycling events, Mrs. Davenport stated that it does, and the committee also discussed the possibility of household waste recycling event like paint and other hazardous materials that cannot be thrown away. Mr. Schaffenacker reviewed the minutes of the previous month and stated that no action items were listed on the topic, and asked Mrs. Davenport to forward on what she has received from Tourism, Mrs. Davenport also added that it would be nice to have an idea of what the County will be receiving every year before too many funds are given out. Mr. Schaffenacker asked Mrs. Davenport to have Mr. Hauge attend the Workshop meeting the following night. The committee also had discussion about the Zoning/ Economic Development officer position.

A motion was made by Mr. Sanders, seconded by Dr. Hepler, to adjourn the meeting at 6:14pm. Motion carried.
