Illinois State Rep. Tim Butler (R-Springfield) will host a campaign fundraising event Tuesday, June 7, according to a recent Facebook post.
"Logan County friends, please join Sen. Sally Turner and myself at our annual Spirited Republic/Limerick Brewing Company fundraiser on Tuesday, June 7 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. It is always a great time!" Butler wrote in his Facebook post.
The state representative previously announced his intention to run for the new 95th District in January, with a video posted to his social media last January.
"Today I announced that I'll run for election in the new 95th District, which contains parts of Christian, Macon and Sangamon counties," Butler wrote in his announcement. "I look forward to running in this new district and to continue to serve as your voice at the State Capitol."
Butler has received nominations from many current and former Republican legislators in his current district, according to Peoria Standard. On May 20, he announced the he had received another nomination, this one from the Illinois Farm Bureau Activator.
