Illinois State Rep. Tim Butler recently announced a June 11 meet and greet event as he campaigns to represent the 95th District.

Butler made his announcement in a June 7 Facebook post.

"Saturday Meet & Greet in Chatham!" Butler wrote. "Join us Saturday, June 11, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Scoop Du Jour for a meet and greet. I'll be there to talk about our campaign; we will have yard signs and literature; and if you want to join us for door knocking, we will be hitting the Chatham area and Springfield's west side on Saturday afternoon. Hope you can come out to say 'hello'!"

Butler has been endorsed by The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police.

"ENDORSEMENT ALERT! Crime is on the rise and now a lot of people running for office want you to believe they support law enforcement even though they have voted against supporting our police," Butler wrote in a June 5 Facebook post. "I have been a strong voice for law enforcement. I have stood with them because I know they are there every day, every minute, protecting my family and yours. I #BackTheBlue with my votes and my words. That is why I'm so proud to be endorsed by the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police."

Butler previously rallied voters on May 28 saying, "Hey Sangamon, Christian, and Macon counties: the 2022 primary election is in four weeks, June 28...one month...from today! In the #New95th District, I am the ONLY person running who ACTUALLY lives in the district. Early voting has been open for almost two weeks and County Clerks say that turnout has been robust. Whether you go to the polls early or vote on Election Day (that's what I'm doing this year), I would truly appreciate your vote in the June 28 Republican Primary! #GetOutTheVote"

The state representative originally announced that he would run to represent the new 95th District on Jan. 10.

"Today I announced that I'll run for election in the new 95th District, which contains parts of Christian, Macon, and Sangamon counties," Butler said. "I look forward to running in this new district and to continue to serve as your voice at the State Capitol."
