Representative Tim Butler took to Facebook and encourages his colleagues to pick up their campaign material posted around the community.

“Win or lose, responsible campaigns get their signs down quickly after the election,” Butler wrote on Facebook. “We've been out collecting our signs across the #New95th.”

Ballotpedia wrote Butler took to office back in 2015 and he’s on the ballot for the upcoming November general election.

The Peoria Journal Star had Butler winning the election as of 2:47 p.m. on June 29, with 7,393 votes. His challenger, Kent Gray, got 2,656 votes. At that time 95% of votes had been counted.

The Center Square Illinois reported Butler supported a gas tax increase back in 2019.

“I make no bones about the fact that infrastructure is one of the things in the state of Illinois that gives us a competitive advantage,” Butler said to The Center Square Illinois. “And what my opponent would like to do is strip that away, basically stop the hundreds of millions of dollars of projects that are being invested right here in this community.”

The State Journal-Register calls the race for Butler. It also quotes Butler:

“Even though it's a new district, I'm pretty well known and people understand that I've done a pretty good job as a state representative," Butler said. "I think people appreciated the way we approached the campaign. I was out there talking directly to people — my radio ads were me talking directly to people — and we got around the district a lot.

The Telegraph wrote Butler called out the Illinois Department of Employment Security for unemployment fraud.

“The Pritzker administration and IDES have refused to disclose the extent to which fraud affected our unemployment system and this audit makes abundantly clear why,” said Butler said in a statement to The Telegraph. “The loss of nearly $2 billion, more than half the funds for the PUA program, displays an unprecedented level of negligence by the administration and IDES management.”

In Butler’s previous district, the 87th, Tazewell County Board member William Hauter has the Republican vote to replace Butler. He will be on the November ballot.
