Village of Greenview Village Board met Aug. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Brandon Wellhausen, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Norman Hofmann, and Jamie Booth were present. Other village personnel present were Village Treasurer John Holt, Village Employee Joe Reynolds, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

Charlotte Wohler was announced a presented a proclamation for the 2022 Citizen of The Year. No Public Participation

John Holt gave the treasurer’s report. A motion was made by Trustee Wellhausen and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to accept the treasurer’s report. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record.

President Curry advised that has worked on a property that needed cleaned up and has spoken to the resident and should be cleaned up by mid-September.

The minutes from the August 1st, 2022, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to approve the payment of all bills. Motion was roll called, all present voted aye. Motion passed.

Old Business

1. Vote on the jelly sand removal was tabled until the next meeting.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to transition phone service from Verizon to AT&T. All present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

3. Discussion was had regarding the property located at 152 W Monroe. Contacted the elevator regarding them possibly purchasing, no response. President Curry recommends to the board to pursue obtaining the property and getting it cleaned up. A motion was made by Trustee Wellhausen and seconded by Trustee Booth to have zoning officer contact attorney to proceed. All present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

4. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to accept the resignation of Trustee Heavner. All present in favor voted aye.

New Business

1. Discussion was had on 3 candidates interested in the open Trustee position. President Curry advised that he would invite those candidates to the next board meeting so that everyone could meet them.

A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Booth to move the meeting into executive session at 7:30 pm.

Executive Session ended at 7:45 pm.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Absent

Trustee Hofmann: Gave update on the jelly sand testing. Was postponed for Thursday. Called engineers regarding a sewer update and was told everything is still on hold because no money has opened up.

Trustee Soldwedel: Has been updating the website. Made suggested changes to the AT&T contract as per the last meeting and sent to John who will forward it on.

Trustee Wellhausen: Waiting to hear from Ameren on the claim for the filter plant before he files both claims with IML Insurance

Trustee Booth: Advised board of the tree trimming bids. Advised it would be the committees’ recommendation to go with Zack Minor for the tree trimming. A vote will be taken at the next meeting. Discussion was had on when the oil & chipping of the roads would be.

Clerk: Discussion was had on the meeting date since the next meeting fell on a holiday. The board decided to move the next meeting to September 12th, 2022, at 7:00 pm.

Street/Water Department: Discussion was had a tree planted in the village easement and possible issues it will cause. Discussion on what was expected to be done for the Labor Day celebration. Discussion was had on the Christmas tree at the park. And discussion had on the old blue equipment at the park.

Meeting adjourned at 8:27 pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday September 12th, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
