Logan County Animal Control Committee met Sept. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present: Mr. Schaffenacker, Mr. Farmer, Mr. Sanders, Mr. Leesman, Mr. Jenness

Absent: Mr. Jenness Mrs. Davenport

Guests:

Staff: Jane Whiteman

Mr. Schaffenacker called the meeting to order at 5:45pm

Approval of minutes: A motion was made by Mr. Sanders, seconded by Mr. Leesman, to approve the minutes from July 7, 2022. Motion carried.

Administrator/Warden’s report- Mrs. Whiteman reports that she has a veterinarian now for medical care but no euthanasia. She has hired two staff, but they have already quit. Mr. Leesman asks Mrs. Whiteman staffing and what is causing people to quit. Mrs. Whiteman answers pay and hours, the job requires every weekend and holidays. The pay isn’t enough for someone to live on. Mrs. Whiteman says a combination of all these things make it hard to hire. Old Business: None

New Business: None.

Budget Review: Mr. Schaffenacker gives the committee a few minutes to review the budget. Mr., Schaffenacker states that we should be at about 75% for the year. Mr. Jenness states that the registration fees look good. Mr. Schaffenacker asks about budget sheets. Mrs. Whiteman states that she had not received her budget sheets, but she had talked to the Board Office and had obtained them. Mr. Jenness asks if she sees a need for changes. Mrs. Whiteman states that the food line will be going up due to the lack of donations. She also expects medical, and utilities will need to be increased.

Public Comments: None.

Approval of the Bills: Mr. Jenness makes Motion to approve the bills for July and August seconded by Mr. Sanders motion carried

A motion was made by Mr. Sanders, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to adjourn the meeting at 5:46 pm. Motion carried.
