Reception Honors SIUE University Housing Residents on Dean’s List

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s University Housing held its fall 2022 Dean’s List reception on Tuesday, Feb. 7 in Evergreen Hall. This annual recognition event recognizes University Housing residents who made the Dean’s List in the fall semester.

The Dean’s List is the most prestigious academic recognition SIUE students can receive for performance during a semester. To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours of college level courses during the semester and earn a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for the semester.

“The Dean’s List reception is a celebration of hard work and academic achievements by University Housing residents,” remarked Mallory Sidarous, director of University Housing. “It is our pleasure to host this event and invite family members, friends and campus community members to be part of recognizing the work of these students.”

839 University Housing residents made the Dean's List during the fall term. Over 100 recipients and their guests attended the reception. The event focused on celebrating student success and included remarks from Denise Cobb, PhD, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, and Miriam Roccia, interim vice chancellor for student affairs. In addition to the remarks made, light refreshments, a lapel pin and a selfie station were available for students.
