Women's gymnastics drops meet with SEMO as Nelson wins floor
The women's gymnastics team participated in their final home meet of the season and dropped the decision 192.950-183.775 against Southeast Missouri State. Among Greenville's highlights were Amara Nelson placing first overall in the floor exercise and the team vault score of 47.350.
After Saturday's first rotation, the Greenville vaulters were only separated 47.775-47.350 against SEMO's participants in the uneven bars. GU was led by Nelson's score of 9.600 in the vault which was tied for the fifth highest score in the event among all participants.
Greenville's performance during their next rotation - the uneven bars - produced a score of 43.575 which was their lowest rotation. Molly Froman's score of 9.200 in the uneven bars was Greenville's best, but it was sixth in the event.
In the balance beam competition, the Panthers posted a score of 46.300. Alessia Russo provided a mark of 9.525 to rank fifth among the event's participants.
In the final rotation, Nelson's score of 9.775 in the floor exercise was the top overall mark. She tied two of SEMO's participants for the top honor.
The Panthers will conclude their regular season schedule with a meet against Fisk on March 14 at Belmont.
