State Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer recently announced a photo contest on June 6 through a Facebook post.
"I’m holding another photo contest to update the pictures on my wall in Springfield," he wrote. "Please think about something cool or fun to photograph that would look good in my office!!"
The photo contest is set to take place throughout the year, Davidsmeyer said in a news release. Winners will be selected at different intervals, starting with the first round of pictures on July 15. Additional rounds will follow on Oct. 1 and Dec. 15. Anyone, regardless of age, can participate by capturing a photo of a location, object, or event within the 100th District's boundaries. Participants must include identifying information and contact details of the photographer with their photo entries. Email entries to RepCDDavidsmeyer@gmail.com
"There are so many amazing places and cool events throughout the 100th District," Rep. Davidsmeyer said. "Pick a local landmark, a festival, a farm, business, wildlife, or anything that tells the story of our region. I can’t wait to continue to show off our district to the many visitors from around the state and nation!"
Davidsmeyer aims to enhance the visual appeal of his Springfield office by incorporating images from his district, the release said. The photo contest welcomes submissions of pictures from the 100th District, encompassing Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike and Scott Counties. A map of the district is available here.
