Village of Greenview Village Board met July 17.

The Greenview Village Board met for a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, July 17, 2023. President Kevin Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Taya Smith, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Norman Hofmann, Pat Feagans, Pamela Rouse and Jamie Booth were present. Other village personnel present were John Holt and Village Clerk Rachel Henderson.
Public Participation:
Public participation consisted of Mr. Dave Taapken discussing the upcoming annual Street Fest.
John Holt was unable to give Treasurer’s Report due to technical issues, report shall be given next meeting.
John Holt gave the zoning report. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record.
The minutes from the July 10, 2023 board meeting were reviewed by each board member. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.
The minutes from the June 26, 2023 special meeting were reviewed by each board member. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.
Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Feagans to approve the payment of all bills. Motion was roll called, all present voted aye. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve compensation for the former clerk’s time spent training the new clerk. Motion was roll called, all present voted aye. Motion passed.
Old Business
A. MCI membership for the Village Clerk needs clarifications before consideration.
New Business
Committee Reports:
Trustee Feagans: Tractor rail blade installed, discussion on getting a new well pump, notified the board that water tower and pumps running as should, discussion was had about expanded cost for meters and to make adjustments on water bills.
Trustee Hofmann: Presented the board with a drafted ordinance for solar power; Board proposed that there be more discussion on rules and regulations, present revisions at the next meeting.
Trustee Soldwedel: Informed the board that the candidate for Citizen of The Year declined, will continue to accept nominations.
Trustee Booth: Discussion on sidewalk repairs
Trustee Smith: None
Trustee Rouse: None
Treasurer: None
Clerk: Advised board of Civic Improvement Association (CIA) invitation for meeting on planning the 2023 Labor Day Celebration.
President: Gave note of date that oil and chipping of county roads will begin. Shared information discussed with the county engineer about possible grants for sidewalks and discussed a potential meeting for further information.
The meeting adjourned at 8:09pm.
At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday August 7, 2023, at 7:00 pm.
