State Representative Wayne Rosenthal (R-Morrisonville) recently visited the Capital Area Career Center (CACC) to discuss the increasing demand for learning trades. During his tour, Rep. Rosenthal had the opportunity to speak with leaders and students, witnessing firsthand the valuable work and programs offered by CACC.

"I was honored to meet with leaders and students during my tour of this excellent trade school that serves 16 school districts in Central Illinois," expressed Rep. Rosenthal. "The work they do and the programs they offer are setting up students for success in the field with good paying jobs."

CACC is dedicated to providing high-school students with the opportunity to learn specific trades. Funding for their programs is made possible through school districts and grants. Currently, CACC offers 19 programs, and due to increasing demand, they will soon be adding four more.

Highlighting the importance of hands-on experience, Rep. Rosenthal emphasized, "Every program this school offers has students working hands-on in real-life situations, which I think is very important. Students also learn about work ethic and what to expect when they land a job in the community."

The commitment and dedication of CACC and its staff have earned recognition within the community. For instance, the building trades program has constructed six Habitat for Humanity homes across the state. Furthermore, the nursing programs at CACC collaborate with Memorial and HSHS for clinic work. These partnerships exemplify how investing in students' education positively impacts communities in multiple ways.

As CACC continues to grow and expand its programs, they remain committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their chosen trades. Through their hands-on approach and partnerships with local organizations, CACC is preparing students for fulfilling careers and contributing to the growth and development of their communities.
